Little City Concerts Announces Season 3 Nonprofit Partners

Falls Church's innovative classical and social justice-oriented Little City Concerts (LCC) has just announced its four nonprofit sponsors for its third season, 2025-2026.

The nonprofit partners are lined up for Season 3. Courtesy Little City Concerts.

"I'm so happy to write and let you know that we went live today with our full season at Little City Concerts for 2025-2026, which includes our nonprofit partners for the year, and some hefty revisions to our website to reflect our Season 3 programming. SEASON 3!," wrote LCC's Founder and Director, Stephen Gorbos.

"Wow – it feels great to write that!," Gorbos continued. "While I want to thank the artists and nonprofits for working with me on their events for this season, I also want to express my most sincere gratitude to Fr. Burl Salmon and the staff at The Falls Church Episcopal in Falls Church City for supporting us throughout the year: they will continue to be our main partner on this series, with all of our events taking place in their beautiful modern sanctuary."

Here are the nonprofit pairings for LCC's four concerts in Season 3:

Concert 1, Sept. 20Nen Daiko will be paired with Hamkae Center. Our nonprofit for this event is Hamkae Center. Hamkae Center is a transformative force in empowering and organizing Asian Americans in Virginia to address systemic barriers through policy advocacy, coalition-building, social services, and community engagement to promote equity, justice, and lasting change. From advocating for immigrant justice, reproductive justice, and voting rights to providing essential services like healthcare referrals, small business coaching, and naturalization assistance, Hamkae Center has achieved and continues to win significant victories for Asian Americans across Virginia.

Concert 2, Nov. 22Mary Voutsas and friends will be paired with SafeSpaceNoVA. Our nonprofit partner for this event will be SafeSpaceNoVA. SafeSpaceNoVA's objective is to create spaces where LGBTQ+ youth feel valued, respected, and supported in expressing their identities authentically. At the core of our efforts is the belief that all young people, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, deserve to thrive in environments that affirm their identities and celebrate their diversity.

Concert 3, Feb. 21, 2026Bridge Voices will be paired with Homestretch. The mission of Homestretch is to help families who are experiencing homelessness become self-sufficient by giving them the skills, knowledge, and hope they need to become productive participants in the community. Homestretch provides secure, transitional housing along with holistic support services that tackle the underlying causes of homelessness. By addressing these challenges at their core, Homestretch empowers individuals and families to build stable, self-sufficient futures, breaking the cycle of poverty for good.

Concert 4, April 18, 20269th Street Quartet will be paired with Second Story The nonprofit partner for this event will be Second Story, a Fairfax County-based organization that serves youth experiencing homelessness or another crisis, and young mothers and their children. Second Story transforms the lives of children, youth and their families by providing safe havens and opportunities for them to grow and thrive. Their programs provide support at critical turning points in their lives.

"Our link for Season Tickets is now live, as are ticket sales for the Season Opener with Nen Daiko on 9/20," Gorbos said. "If you love what we do at Little City Concerts, please consider supporting us by buying a season ticket. That kind of up-front commitment helps us have a more predictable revenue stream at the start of year for our expenses in bringing these events to our community; the benefit to our subscribers is a discount on our four concerts (20 percent off when you buy the series as a whole). Thanks again for your support: looking forward to seeing you in September!"

In previous stories (see below) we've covered Virginia Dream FC Founder and Team Captain Lucas Mendes's creative designs for his team's uniforms, or kits, garnering international attention for their vogue styling.

Lucas's "quest to blend soccer, fashion, art, and music," continues apace, according to a press release from Virginia Dream FC. However, "This time around" he's designing kits and soccer warmup suits "on the female pro soccer side."

With women's soccer "blowing up all over the world," Mendes's most recent sartorial venture is sure to gain him even more worldwide attention.
