Homestretch Hosts Partnered Event to Donate 5,000 Pieces of Clothing to Local Families
We salute local nonprofit Homestretch, at 303 S. Maple Ave., for stepping up just in time for this weekend's arctic blast to provide clothing to local families in need.
For an in-depth look at what Homestretch is all about see our article below:

Following is based on a Jan. 20 Homestretch press release:
Homestretch, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering homeless families with children in Virginia to achieve permanent housing and self-sufficiency, hosted an event, “Tiny Threads, Big Impact,” in partnership with the John and Eden Foundation and Dr. Hyun Lee to donate 5,000 pieces of clothing to local northern Virginia families.
The event brought together Homestretch, the John and Eden Foundation and Dr. Hyun Lee as Dr. Lee and her family in South Korean donated these items of clothing to families. The donations include children’s pajamas and women’s underclothes. Homestretch is serving as a central hub for partner organizations to pick up and distribute items as part of this effort.

“We were honored to partner with Dr. Hyun Lee and the John and Eden Foundation to make this extraordinary donation possible and ensure these essential items reach families who need them most,” said Barfonce Baldwin, executive director of Homestretch. “Support like this has a meaningful impact on the lives of families in our community. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Hyun Lee and her family, as well as the John and Eden Foundation, for their commitment to standing with families and strengthening our community.”

Homestretch serves hundreds of families each year across Northern Virginia, helping parents and children move from homelessness to permanent housing through a comprehensive model that combines stable housing with financial, career and life-skills support. Yet the need for this work continues to grow as affordable housing becomes increasingly out of reach for many families in the region. Donations like this help Homestretch continue its mission to support local families in their time of need.
About Homestretch: Homestretch, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1990, provides homeless families with safe, supportive housing and a comprehensive, two-year program designed to build financial stability, health, life skills, and careers. At the end of their time at Homestretch, families graduate into permanent housing they can afford on their own income. With a track record of success, 95 percent of Homestretch graduates remain housed and employed long after completing the program.
