Falls Church Arts Announces 2026 Excellence in Art Scholarships

Falls Church Arts (FCA), a community based 501(c)3 gallery and visual arts organization serving the greater Falls Church and D.C. Metro area for over 23 years, is pleased to announce the winners of its 2026 Excellence in Art scholarships. Chosen from submissions across the area, these finalists represent students with determined drive in the visual arts and a chosen path to continue in the arts through their higher education.

This year's twelve chosen winners are:

Chloe Madison Brown, Falls Church High School;
Catherine Buchholz, Meridian High School;
Kevin Burgos-Prads, Meridian High School;
Evelyn Cartwright, Westfield High School;
Jose Ellen Hackley, Thomas Jefferson for Science and Technology;
Adi Rose Henderson, Meridian High School;
Katherine Anne Maizel Daly, Thomas Jefferson for Science and Technology;
Morgan Palmer, Westfield High School;
Kate Peterson, Madison High School;
Olivia Seifert-Ahanda, George Marshall High School;
Sara Sunmi Keiko Yoshikawa, Madison High School.
Each student will receive a $1,000 award to help them pursue college-level art studies.

Falls Church Arts Member Show A–L Opens June 6 with Meet-the-Artists Reception

Falls Church Arts will present the first installment of its annual All Member Show from June 6 through July 12, featuring 72 artists whose last names begin with A–L. A free meet-the-artists reception will take place on Saturday, June 6, from 7 to 9 p.m., and is open to the public.
The second installment of the show, featuring artists with last names beginning M–Z, will run from July 18 through August 23.
This wide-ranging exhibition showcases work by both emerging and established artists from Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. The A–L show includes a diverse selection of media, including watercolor, oil, gouache, acrylic, pastel, pen and ink, pencil, photography, terracotta, mixed media, textiles, and printmaking.

The Falls Church Arts gallery is located at 700-B West Broad St. (Route 7), Falls Church. Admission is free. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Artwork may also be viewed online at https://fallschurcharts.org, and all pieces are available for purchase either at the gallery or through the website.
Visitors may vote for the People’s Choice Award in the A–L exhibit through June 26. The winner will be announced on June 27.
